Peek-A-Boo Eggs

Of the 4 card samples I made to teach in March this is one that just cracks me up, pun intended.  I got the inspiration from a card I seen at our Leadership Conference last month in Las Vegas.

Now I bet you at least smiled when you seen this card.  Isn't it fun!  I love our Eggmojis stamp set as the components can be used on more than eggs!

And isn't this gut a hoot with his glasses!  I was thinking of adding some Journey Glaze but thought the Wiggle eyes were enough. Ok, now for my supplies:
Card stocks: Pool Play, Whip Cream, Lemon Drop, Bubble Gum, Lemon Grass, and Pretty Amethyst
Dies: Egg Party (a Bloom Benefit you get free with a $50 order),  Journey CirclesBanner Parade, and
       Basic Box Window Plates
Embossing Folder: Love Stripes
Stamps: Eggmojis and Eggspressions
Other: Color Burst Pencils and Wiggle Eyes
Ink: Black Licorice

I do have a religious card as part of the 4 using the beautiful Color Cross Bundle.  So stay tuned!

Hippity Hoppity Bunny Tail

Wednesday I finished the other 3 cards for a class in March.  I now need to go to the store where I teach to see when the room is available. maybe the 31st.  This 2nd card is also inspired of one from our Bloom This Way mini catalog.

I started with a Whip Cream folded card base then added the Pool Play layer.  The bunny and text are from the Bunny Bum ATS stamp set. I added a strip of Oatmeal Cookie card stock at the bottom and a bit of Lemon Grass card stock that was die cut with our grass die from the Border Details die set.

I die cut a piece of pattern paper from a retired pad from last year (I have so much and it's too cool to toss) using our Circle dies and adhered it behind the grass.  After stamping and cutting out the bunny I used a marker that came the closest to the pom pom (a retired Bloom Benefit) to color the tail before adhering the Pom Pom.  A bit of Lemon Grass thread was wrapped around the bottom of the card front.  Using Citrus Cooler ink I colored a heart from the Forever Heart Chips and added some of my Wink of Stella to it.
To finish off the card a few Bloom Time sequins were glue dotted on.

Cracking Up at My Desk

I get to play today!  I did not get chosen for Jury Duty, my group was excused, so now I will get some mending and laundry done, make a couple cards, and tour desks!  Yep, it's the tour d'desks! (Or however you want to say that.)  And this fun tour of work desks is brought together by Julia at the Stamping Ground.  She's the glue that keeps up together!

My desk photo was taken yesterday afternoon as I try to get up real early to link in and I've not got much brain to take a photo, download it to my computer, edit/crop it, resize it, save it again then make a post.

I'm starting on card samples for a class the end of March.  The one here on my desk is done and I'll show it in a bit.  So, on my desk, left to right.
You see a corner of my paper trimmer in front of my Cricut, then a pile of stamps. The little black piece with the green egg shaped thing is a die to match the egg stamps in the pile.  On my scrap paper is the card front and a strip of pattern paper on some solid paper. Far right is an ink pad and my ATG adhesive roller.  I'm trying not to resize my photo too much so that if you desire to click on it for a closer look it should enlarge.

And now for the card that came from this mess...

Usually in my classes I start with an easy card and work up.  This is the easy card.  Very simple and not necessarily Easter. All products are from the company I'm affiliated with.

My purple ink doesn't like my egg stamp ever after I tried to condition the stamp.  I may have to use a different color ink.

Now you've reached the end of my post.  Please head over to the Stamping Ground for more desks.  I'm not using my regular signature here as I'm wondering if using it is possibly causing my blog to get 30 - 40 bot hits every 4 - 5 hours (over 200 daily when I usually get about 30 - 75).  My blog even got hit 540+ times at 1 time last week.  What research I've done looks like it's a Blogger thing but I'm not sure. It was also suggested that I request "money to pay bills" (don't need, really!) to maybe stop some of the hits.  We'll see! My Feb. stats are totally worthless from all this.

Be Bold

I have not yet made my 4 cards from our February Bloom Box but I did make a card using the Bold Wings stamp set.  Usually a friend comes over when her hubby works with mine on Saturdays and we make our cards but it isn't going to happen this month.

I actually seen a card similar to this on Pinterest.  I started with a Whip Cream base and a layer of Huckleberry Fusion.  The butterfly is stamped on Whip Cream with our Clear Pigment ink then White embossed.  I used Huckleberry Fusion ink and multiple stamping with our Branch ATS stamp for the branches and text (from the Bold Wings set).

I used a couple PanPastels on and around the butterfly, I used the Huckleberry Fusion from the Rich Sorbets set and  Pool Play from the Confectionary Days set.  And 3 tiny rhinestones finished out the butterfly.

This card would also be great as a birthday or sympathy card just by changing the text.

And for those of you in the know, any ideas why my blog would get 540 hits at 1 time?  I've been getting 30 to 40 every 4 to 6 hours for the past week but Saturday afternoon, oh my gosh!  Would love to know why!

Going Places

Today is the last day you can get the fun and new Rainbow Bubbles stamp set until it officially is released April 1 with the new Spring Into Summer mini catalog.  You must place a $50 order to qualify to purchase this set.  I made another card using it and kinda following a card Richard Garay demoed on his Monday morning (2/13) video.

The background was a bit messy to make and I used our Color Splash sheets, a Mister of water, Black Licorice ink, 3 Splashes (Turbo Teal, Cool Pool, and Lemon Grass), and our Gold and Cool Pool Silks.  I highly recommend you watch Richard's video (see 2/14 post for link) and see all his demos.

The top layer was made using our Vellum Paper, White Embossing Powder, Clear Pigment Ink, and 4 or 5 assorted Silks. I embossed on 1 side of the Vellum and added dots of Silks on the back side.

This wooden element (long retired and I've still got a couple left from the package) was colored with our Whip Cream ink then I added Journey Glaze and some Sparkle Dust glitter.  It may be a bit too blingy when compared to the rest of the card.  I think this card would be great for either someone graduating or retiring.

Desks and Heart Kisses

It's Hump Day...  I was thinking of the TV commercial with the camel walking through the office asking if people knew what day it was.  Well,  it's also WOYWW or What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday which is a lot more fun!  This fun tour of  desks is put together by Julia at the Stamping Ground.  And I hope you had a great Valentine's Day.  My hubby buys me a box of Milk Dud candy rather than the big heart boxes as I don't particularly like them. Unfortunately our little convenience store didn't have any so I got a small bag of Red Vines.  I'll just finish the Hershey Kisses from the project below...

Ok, what's here.  I'm just starting to make 4 card kits so my desk is starting to get busy.  There is paper, glue dots, and Hershey Kisses on the left in front of the Cricut.  Middle, my paper trimmer and card bases with my stamp cleaning rag behind.  And on the right, card directions and a stamp on top of the card samples sitting on my Amaze machine.

Last Wednesday I shared little red triangles that I made for special Valentine treats for family.  Are you ready to see what they became?

I added pieces of pattern paper (from the company I'm affiliated with) and Hershey Kiss candies to make Heart Kisses!

They are 1" deep.  I found the pattern on a blog called QbeesQuest.com.  Did you think of something like this when you seen the red triangles?

Aren't they adorable!  I'm sure our kids, grandkids, and great grandkids will enjoy them.

I know this post was a bit longer than usual but I couldn't leave you in suspense any longer!  So now please head over to the Stamping Ground and check out the links to many other desks and projects.

Rainbow Bubbles Special

Oh my gosh!  Richard Garay is giving YOU an opportunity to purchase a special stamp set from our upcoming Spring Into Summer mini that takes effect April 1.  The set is called Rainbow Bubbles.

He even has a video (a hair over 1 hour) showing cards using fun techniques and designs! Just click HERE. Here's my take on the first card in the video.

I really want you to check out the video so I'm only going to give you the products used.

Stamps: Rainbow Bubbles (SS-0418) and Happy Expressions
Ink: Black Licorice
Colorant: Color Splash Pencils, Blending Brush
Sequins: Blue Skies and Silver
Card Stocks: Color Splash Sheets, Whip Cream, Pool Play
Whip Cream Thread
Journey Glaze & Heat Tool
Silks: Silver and Cool Pool

How do you like the texture on the fish?  Richard showed us how to get this effect using our Journey Glaze and the Heat tool!

I tried to get a side view of the fish.  SO MUCH TEXTURE!!

If you choose to place a $50 order to get this great Rainbow Bubbles set you will NOT find it in the stamp area of our shopping section.  Instead you must enter it at the end of your order in the rewards area.  Here's a picture of where you add it.

Remember, you only have THIS WEEK to get this set before it comes out April 1!!  And that's not foolin'!

No Bones About It, It's Time to Go Wild

Since tomorrow is Valentine's Day I can share a card that I made for one of our great grandsons, yes, a GREAT grandson.  We have a soon to be 2 year old and an upcoming 7 year old.  They are such a delight and we miss them greatly as we live about 1400 miles from them.  Anyway,  here's the last 2 cards I made last week.

I absolutely love the Campfire Friends Bundle and Sweet Spring paper pack.  Both of these are in our Bloom This Way mini and you can purchase these through March 31st.  I started with a base of Sweet Berry card stock and Oval die cut a piece to make my images pop.  The Go Wild text comes from our Great Outdoors stamp set.  I cut the words apart to make it fit here.

I did color with my Copic markers,  I feel I've been neglecting them.  All images were stamped with Black Licorice ink on Whip Cream card stock.  Can you see the blue paper ribbon behind the oval? That is Celebration Trim, a Bloom Benefit you can get FREE with a $50 order.

Now isn't this card just too cute!!  I used another stamp set from the current mini catalog called Dino Love.  This one does not have a coordinating die set but the images are pretty easy to detail cut. I used the same pattern paper, Sweet Spring.  I did start with a base of River Stone card stock, used the Banner Parade die set to cut the pattern paper and hand cut the Black Licorice layer behind it.  I Circle die cut the Cool Pool layer. The dino and hearts were stamped on Whip Cream card stock and colored with our Color Burst pencils.  I used baby oil and our Blenders to smooth my coloring.

I did add a bit of bling using my Stardust Clear gel pen on the little hearts (looks silver) and on the eye.
Wednesday I'll share the special treats I made for all our kids and their families.  Last Wednesday I shared the beginning of them.

February Class Cards

I just realized that I haven't posted the other 3 cards I'll be teaching on Feb. 17 in Green Valley!  Oh my!  Been so busy getting my Valentine projects done for family that I totally spaced it!  Well, I'll make up for it now.

This card is for the young man,  I used new products from our Bloom This Way mini catalog.

Isn't the Fun Triangles Die Strip just too cool!!!  I backed the sections with strips of Citrus Cooler, Beach Ball, and Lemon Drop card stocks.  The card base is made from Pool Play card stock.  I circle die cut some more Lemon Drop.  I stamped on Whip Cream card stock and die cut the Tee Pee and Bear from the Campfire Friends Bundle and colored with my Color Burst Pencils.  The text is from our Yummy Party stamp set.  All stamping is done with Black Licorice ink.

This next card is for a gal...

I love our Dahlia Burst Bundle and Ink Splat AT stamps! I used the same text stamp as the previous card.

I stamped on Whip Cream the Ink Splat (such a versatile stamp!) in both Rich Coral and Limeade Splash inks then stamped  with Black Licorice ink and die cut 2 sizes of Dahlias and 3 leaves.  I also stamped the Ink Splat on Pool Play card stock with Pool Play ink and the text. After adhering and foam dotting the flowers and leaves I adhered this on a layer of Rich Coral card stock.  A few very tiny rhinestones from my non-FSJ stash (I want to use them up and not waste them) and this card is done!

And finally another card for a gal (or actually any gender and age)...

Who doesn't like cupcakes!  I started with a base of Beach Ball card stock. I tied some Bubble Gum thread around a layer of a pattern from a retired pack of paper (boy, do I have lots of retired paper) and adhered it to the base.  I used the same Happy Birthday as on the previous 2 cards.

I Oval die cut a piece of Lavender Fusion card stock and foam dotted it in place.  I stamped our Yummy & Delicious cupcake on Whip Cream and added the cupcake paper in Sweet Pear ink.  After die cutting the cupcake top out of Bubble Gum card stock I embossed it with our Yummy Dots embossing folder through the fabulous Amaze machine (my absolute favorite die cutting machine), stamped the cherry on Candy Apple card stock and assembled.

Well, you certainly got a lot of info today!  I am enjoying playing at my desk again after being gone then being so sick.  Took quite a while to get my mojo back and feel functional.  I hope you enjoyed today's post and next week I'll start sharing some of my Valentine cards for our great grandsons!

Wednesday Desk and a Special Project

Southern Arizona is definitely enjoying spring!  It's now flip flop & Tshirt weather and difficult to sit at my desk and craft.  But I must.  And today is your opportunity to get a look at my desk and others as this is What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday and these fun views are all put together by Julia at the Stamping Ground. She has held us together all these years. Thanks, Julia!

I'm working on a special project for Valentines Day and have 4 completed out of 13 needed.  I have to get these in the mail THIS week!  But as to what's on my desk, hmmm....  Paper trimmer, a pad of paper and a bag of Hershey Kisses, my Scor-Pal where all the work is happening, tape, tools, ATG adhesive runner, scrap paper, and my Amaze machine.

Here's my project in the works.  I cannot share the finished ones until next Wednesday just in case the recipients happen to tune in.

Anyway, this is a short post but please head over to the Stamping Ground and check out the links to other desks. You'll find them from the United States to all over Europe and down to Australia! Have fun and be sure to grab your favorite beverage!  I can be here all day but I really need to get these done!

One Cross, Two Looks

I finally took part in a challenge by a fellow FSJ Coach last week.  We had to make a card using both wet and dry embossing.  I made a card and shared it on her FB page but the more I looked at it the less I liked it so this morning I changed it.  I like it much better.

Here's the original card.

I embossed out beautiful Color Cross (Bundle) on Sweet Pear card stock using white embossing powder and Clear Pigment Ink. I layered it on a pierced Oval of Pool Play card stock and added a few Pearls.  I also added a Beauty Bloom.  The Citrus Cooler card stock was embossed with our Beach Towel folder and layered on more Sweet Pear.  I colored the Cross with PanPastels.   The text is just stamped using Black Licorice ink on the Sweet Pear banner.

Here you can see the Beauty Bloom closer.  The Bloom is a Benefit you can get FREE with a $50 order. But I didn't like my coloring of the cross so....

I made another cross using the Sweet Pear card stock and embossed with Black powder.  I removed the Beauty Bloom from the 1st card, adhered this cross over the original and added the Bloom back on. I like this MUCH better.  What do you think?

Everyday is a New Adventure

Now that I have emailed my class list I can start sharing the cards I'll be teaching Feb. 17 in Green Valley, AZ. I gave you a bit of a close up of the text on the card and I'm sure you made out quite a bit of the card from that.  It's a simple card, no frills other than the twine and button since it's for a guy.

I used just 2 stamp sets, Begin Adventure and World Map.  I stamped the Map in our Clear Ink on a piece of Whip Cream card stock then rubbed some Catalina Splash PanPastel on it from our Mother Nature collection using our Sofft Tools. I stamped the plane and text with Hazelnut Blend ink. The card stocks I used besides the Whip Cream is Catalina Splash and Hazelnut Blend. The embellishment is made from Natural Twine and a Nature Button.  Though I'll be teaching this as a birthday card it can be used for other celebrations.  I chose not to say Happy Birthday on the cover as I really like the text I used. And did you notice that I didn't use any dies?  Shocker!

Back to My Desk

I finally got back to my desk this week.  Yep, gotta get some cards made to teach at a class Feb. 17.  The gals from the class Jan. 27 wanted either Birthday or Sympathy so I decided to go with Birthday since I have so many this week (and mine on Saturday).  So, this morning I took a pic of my desk as I was finishing one project to get ready for the next.  I just remembered that today is Wednesday just before I took the pic and realized I missed the great What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday blog tour last week and I'm a bit late this week but I'm sure Julia at the Stamping Ground will accept my link.  She's such a gracious host of this fun tour of desks .

What you see:
Left to right, my red Cricut with paper trimmer and stack of scrap paper in front, stamps, Scor-Pal and mat where I do my actual work, ink pads, ATG adhesive runner, and my Amaze die cut machine far right.

Here's a bit of a close up of one of my guy card.  I'm not ready to share the full view yet.

All products are from the company I'm affiliated with.

Now please head over to the Stamping Ground and check out the links/blogs for more desks.  As soon as I get dressed, contacts in so I can see without trying to look at my computer through bifocal glasses, and laundry in the dryer I'll be hopping around! And today is the 400th week!  What a milestone!

Also, quick question for those how have the "I'm not a robot" check box in their comment section... where did you get that?
